Anthony Edwards wins MVP in NBA All-Star Game as his USA Stars triumph in new format

Anthony Edwards can add the NBA All-Star Most Valuable Player to his ever-expanding basketball CV after winning the prize during Sunday’s showcase.

Edwards scored 32 points alongside nine rebounds and three assists as his USA Stars side beat USA Stripes 47-21 in the final of Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game.

The 75th edition of the NBA All-Star Game saw its fourth different format in four years as two teams of Americans – one filled with young players and the other with veteran stars – took on a Team World in round-robin format before the top-two sides met in a final.

And the format proved a success with all three round-robin matches going down to the buzzer before the blowout finale.
