Arsenal have bolstered their attacking options by signing Eberechi Eze in a £67.5million transfer from Crystal Palace.

Eze has signed a four-year contract at the Gunners and will be unveiled to supporters at the Emirates Stadium ahead of kick-off against Leeds United – which is their first Premier League home game of the season.

He will wear the No 10 shirt at his boyhood club.

The 27-year-old’s future has been one of the transfer sagas of the summer – with bitter rivals Tottenham having been pipped to his signature by Arsenal.

Eberechi Eze will give Arsenal a ‘new dimension’

Speaking about his new signing Mikel Arteta said: ‘He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game. What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today.

‘His journey, his mentality and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club.’

Eberechi Eze will leave as a Crystal Palace legend

Eze swaps south London for north London but he leaves Palace a club great. He scored 40 goals in 169, games for Palace but his impact was greater than that.

His final game last season for the club, where he scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions, saw him score the only goal of the game as Palace beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final.

It was the first major trophy in their history and they doubled that tally just less than a fortnight ago when he helped them beat Liverpool on penalties to win the Community Shield.
