Champions League semi-final preview: Chelsea and Manchester City look to set up an all English final later this month

Twitter/@ChampionsLeague

The second legs of the Champions League semi-finals are being played this week, with both Manchester City and Chelsea taking slight advantages into their fixtures.

Manchester City lead 2-1 against Paris Saint-Germain

City came from behind last time out to beat PSG 2-1, grabbing two valuable away goals in the process.
Just 90 minutes now separates them from their first ever Champions League final and a shot at one of two trophies they can still win.

Pep Guardiola’s side are clear and just one win away from the Premier League title, and now just two away from European silverware.

Their opponents, though, haven’t fared as well in their domestic league and currently find themselves hoping Lille drop points so they can catch up.

PSG have plenty of ground to make up in both competitions, and that could start on Tuesday night when they travel to the Etihad.

Chelsea look to build upon their away goal vs Real Madrid

On Wednesday, Chelsea welcome Real Madrid after their 1-1 draw in the first leg last week.
Christian Pulisic gave the Blues a vital away goal last time out which they bring with them to Stamford Bridge.

They will also take the momentum of a 2-0 London derby win over Fulham into Wednesday’s game, looking to reach their first Champions League final since 2012 when they last won the competition.

For Madrid, they are just one win away from yet another European final, having already won a record 13 cups.
The likes of Karim Benzema in particular will be a handful again, having become the competition’s fourth all-time top scorer last time out.

With both ties still closely contested, any of the four sides could still realistically make the final, set to be played on the 29th May.
