Chelsea are Club World Cup champions after a sublime 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in New Jersey.

Cole Palmer was the Blues’ talisman as ever, scoring their first two goals in the first half as the Premier League outfit dominated from start-to-finish against the Champions League winners.

Summer signing Joao Pedro, who only joined the club this month, extended their lead before half-time.

While the scoreline didn’t change after the interval, Chelsea enjoyed a numerical advantage late on when Joao Neves was sent off for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair.

That wasn’t the end of the fracas though as tensions spilled after the full-time whistle which saw PSG manager Luis Enrique appear to put his hands to Pedro’s face.

Once things finally did calm down, US President Donald Trump handed the trophy to Chelsea captain Reece James in a bizarre presentation.

What next for Chelsea?

Chelsea, who have roughly earned £84million in prize money from the competition, now can finally breathe after an exhausting 2024-25 season comes to an end.

Boss Enzo Maresca says his players will receive three weeks of holiday before they face Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan at Stamford Bridge in a mini-tournament on August 8 and 10, with their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on 17 August.
