Manchester United are still struggling for form despite beating Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Ever since Ralf Rangnick joined the club in November as interim manager it seemed United fans could finally regain hope that they could turn around their disappointing season so far.

Looking back on the first half of the season Cristiano Ronaldo was not happy with what his team had achieved so far.

‘I’m not happy with what we are achieving in Manchester United,’ he said.

‘None of us are happy, I’m sure of that. We know that we have to work harder, play better and deliver way more than we are delivering right now.’

Domestic woes

Although the Red Devils were able to clinch top spot in their Champions League group, they suffered in domestic competition with poor performances.

They showed an inability to score goals as their wins were only came by one goal against teams which fans argue United should have been beating comfortably.

The draws United racked up were also frustrating for fans as they were against teams they’d expect to beat in Aston Villa, Burnley and Southampton.

Their season took another blow in their fourth-round FA Cup home defeat by Middlesbrough earlier this month. Rangnick saw his side miss a catalogue of chances, as the game went into extra-time, before they lost in a penalty shootout with Anthony Elanga’s miss sealing their fate.

David de Gea, who has been United’s best player this season, hasstruggled to put the finger on the reason for their poor performances.

‘I think someone has put a curse on us or something,’ he quipped.

United’s last game was against Brighton & Hove Albion where they won 2-0.

Despite grabbing the three points their performance was still unsatisfactory even with Brighton going down to 10 men in the second half.

With United’s next game being Leeds United they will be looking to keep the winning momentum going as they currently sit fourth in the table.
