Ipswich Town have completed the set of relegated Premier League teams this season after a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle United.

The Tractor Boys knew they would return to the Championship if they failed to win at St James’ Park and West Ham avoided defeat at Brighton.

Brighton duly delivered for Ipswich, but Kieran McKenna’s side were unable to do what they needed to do as they succumbed to a loss.

After an encouraging start, their afternoon was made worse by Ben Johnson’s first-half red card for a second bookable offence.

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak broke the deadlock with a stoppage-time penalty in the first-half before goals from Dan Burn and Will Osula after the interval sealed Ipswich’s fate.

This is the first time in Premier League history that all relegations have been confirmed with as many as four games remaining after Southampton and Leicester City had earlier in the season been relegated.
