This weekend’s football features arguably the biggest game of the season so far, as first-placed Manchester City take on second-placed Liverpool with just a point separating the two teams.

Towards the top of the Premier League

A win for either side would set up an exciting finish to the season, with two of the best team in the world competing for silverware again.

Tottenham could make a late push for third, hitting form at the right time as the season draws to a close. They face Aston Villa on Saturday and could move within two points of rivals Chelsea with a win.

The Blues are currently third but suffered a shock 4-1 loss to Brentford last time out and could be in danger of dropping out of the top four.

Thomas Tuchel’s side face Southampton this weekend and are only in the Champions League places by five points.

Arsenal could also move back into the top-four this weekend if they were to beat Brighton at the Emirates.

The Gunners fell to a disappointing defeat against Crystal Palace last time out, falling to fifth in the process.

Rounding off the top six is West Ham, who will be looking to finish their successful season in style.

They take on fellow Londoners Brentford on Sunday.

Manchester United currently sit seventh, with their chances of Champions League qualification looking slimmer each passing week.

The Red Devils face Everton, who look to be falling towards the Championship with just two wins from their 12 matches in 2022.

Elsewhere, European outsiders Wolves take on Newcastle in an attempt to keep the pace with those above them amid their late push for European football.

Bruno Lage has had a huge impact on the Midlands team since taking over at the start of the season.

Down at the bottom

Burnley have a crucial tie against Norwich on Sunday, with both sides currently sat in the relegation zone.

The Clarets picked up a vital win against Everton during the week and will be looking to build on this when they travel to the Canaries this weekend.

Fellow strugglers Watford and Leeds go head to head on Saturday.

The Hornets need to win to give their hopes of survival a boost, while three points for Leeds could see them rise as high as 14th.

Finally, Crystal Palace face off against Leicester City in a midtable clash.

The two sides sit 9th and 10th respectively, separated only by goal difference.
