With the FA Cup semi-finals being played this weekend, there are fewer Premier League games than usual and some of the biggest sides are out of action. TIBS News previews it all.

Top-four race continues

The battle for a Champions League spot will continue, with Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham all in action.

Spurs currently sit fourth having won four of their last five games and will take on Brighton on Saturday.

Antonio Conte’s side have been one of the best teams in the division over the last few weeks while their opponents have struggled with just three wins in 2022.

Fellow north Londoners Arsenal also play this weekend, with the Gunners travelling to Southampton.
A lull in form has out a halt to their rise up the table, and Mikel Arteta’s side need to pick up more wins if they are to break into the top four.

West Ham are in action against relegation-threatened Burnley, with the Hammers needing a win to keep in touch with their fellow London sides, and the Clarets needing three points to keep their survival hopes alive.

A Champions League spot looks even more unlikely for Manchester United, with the Red Devils dropping down to seventh last week.

They face bottom placed Norwich this weekend, with the Canaries just clinging on to their Premier League status after a good win against Burnley last week.

Elsewhere in the Premier League

Elsewhere, Leicester City travel to Newcastle United.

The two sides have kept just five clean sheets each all season, highlighting their defensive struggles.

Finally, Watford face Brentford as the Hornets attempt to push out of the bottom three.

Roy Hodgson’s side have won just six games all season and currently sit 19th in the table.

FA Cup ties

In the FA Cup, Manchester City take on Liverpool on Saturday, while Chelsea take on Crystal Palace.
