New Orleans Pelicans considering JJ Redick NBA trade with Philadelphia 76ers interested as well as Boston Celtic and Brooklyn Nets

New Orleans Pelicans’ veteran guard JJ Redick could be traded to a team in the Eastern Conference, according to sources close to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Redick – along with the Pelicans – has struggled so far this season shooting just 33.6 per cent from the court, which has left him out of favour with newly-hired head coach Stan Van Gundy. He failed to register any minutes in the last two Pelicans’ games, despite the team currently sitting 14th in the Western Conference.

The availability of the 36-year-old has still sparked the interest of several teams across the league, including a possible reunion with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid at the Philadelphia 76ers.

Redick spent two seasons with the 76ers from 2017-19, averaging 17.6 points-per-game. The team is now run by Doc Rivers, another familiar face for the guard from his days at the Los Angeles Clippers.

The shooting guard has also been linked with other teams needing more shooting options off the bench, with the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics looking to bolster their rosters.
