Wakefield Trinity are Super League Grand Final champions after beating Warrington Wolves 23-10.

Wakefield led 19-0 at half-time and didn’t look back as they became champions of England for the first time since 1968 – with the Super League era beginning in 1996.

In doing so, they become just the sixth winner of Super League, joining Wigan Warriors, St Helens, Leeds Rhinos, Bradford Bulls and Hull KR.

It completes a remarkable turnaround for the club who were relegated to the Championship in 2023. Three years on they play in their maiden Grand Final appearance and win it.

Wakefield’s 19-0 half-time lead came courtesy of early tries from Cam Scott, Isaiah Vagana and Jazz Tevaga alongside three Max Jowitt conversions and a Jack Sinfield drop goal.

Trinity centre Corey Hall got sin-binned for a high tackle early in the second half and with a man advantage, Warrington scored their first try of the evening through Arron Lindop.

However, Warrington’s hopes to get back into the match were extinguished when Tom Johnstone crossed the whitewash, despite Lindop scoring his second try of the match late on as their wait to be crowned champions of England stretches into an eighth decade.
