Manchester United target Jadon Sancho will stay at Borussia Dortmund, believes CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke

Jadon Sancho will remain a Borussia Dortmund player next season as no one will meet the German club’s valuation of him.

That’s the view of their CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke who has warned Sancho’s suitors that they are no longer a selling club.

Manchester United lead the race for Sancho’s signature – with the right winger seen as the perfect player to solve their attacking issues.

A transfer fee of £100million would be expected to tempt Dortmund to part ways with the England international but Watzke believes such an offer won’t come their way due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic.

“If Jadon comes up to us and says he absolutely wants to leave – which has not been the case so far – and a club wants to pay what we want, then we will discuss it,” Watzke told Sport1.

“I don’t think a club will pay the sum. There is also no coronavirus discount on him.

“We have left the period where we had to sell players. I don’t think there will be a summer transfer.

“We have a more unusual situation next year than usual. With the exception of Achraf Hakimi [who is moving to Inter Milan] the team will stay together. That helps with development.”
