Bernardo Silva will LEAVE Man City at the end of the season after nine trophy-laden years

Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, bringing to an end his nine years at the club.

Silva joined City in 2017 in a £43million transfer from French outfit Monaco.

During his time at the Etihad Stadium, he has won all the major trophies to see his haul at 16 currently. He has lifted the Premier League title six times, the FA Cup twice, the League Cup five times, the Champions League once as well as the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

The 31-year-old captained City to Carabao Cup final glory a fortnight ago against Arsenal and will hope to finish his campaign with Premier League and FA Cup glory to end with a domestic treble.

Silva has indicated before that this will be his final season but his future has been confirmed by City assistant manager Pep Lijnders.

‘Bernardo Silva is unique,’ Lijnders said. ‘It will be hard because in a game when he is not playing you will see how he is missed – and that’s [only] one game.

‘Imagine a season. But every good story comes to an end, and I hope he enjoys the last months – there are only six weeks – and has a good farewell. He deserves all that attention.’

It is unclear at the moment where the Portugal international will go next – with the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and MLS sides among his suitors.

The midfielder has less than two months left of games for City, with his next fixture a trip to Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
