Leeds United sign Marc Roca in a £10m deal from Bayern Munich on a four-year contract

Leeds United have agreed a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca, with the Spaniard due to officially join the club on July 1.

The 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract at Elland Road with the transfer fee believed to be around £10million.

He becomes the third arrival at the club this season, after Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen joined from Red Bull Salzburg.

Roca started his career at Espanyol, before joining Bayern Munich in 2020.

He made 24 appearances in all competitions for the German giants, winning two Bundesliga titles and one FIFA Club World Cup with Bayern.

After signing for Leeds, the former Spain Under-21 international explained that head coach Jesse Marsch played a big role in persuading him to join the club.

‘He [Jesse Marsch] encouraged me to come here, and I can’t wait to start working with him. I think we can do good things!’

Speaking to the club’s official website, the midfielder promised to give everything for his new club and told the fans what they can expect from to see from him in a Leeds shirt.

‘My favourite position is a midfielder, I like to play with the ball and to be strong in defence, always helping the team.

‘The fans can expect me to give my everything. I am a player who loves playing with the ball, but I am hard as well in defensive duels. 

‘I am looking forward to playing here to feel the sensation and to start the season, because I think it will be very good.’
