Andrew Robertson to LEAVE Liverpool at the end of the season when his contract expires

Liverpool stalwart Andrew Robertson will leave the club at the end of the season after nine successful years.

Robertson will depart Anfield as a free agent this summer when his contract expires.

The 32-year-old joined from Hull City in 2017 and has gone on to become a Liverpool legend – winning eight major honours during his time, including two Premier League titles and one Champions League.

Despite being the first-choice left back in their title-winning campaign last term, Robertson has found himself playing second-fiddle to Milos Kerkez under Arne Slot this season.

His next destination is unknown at present, but he has been linked with a move to Tottenham – albeit that is reportedly dependent on relegation-threatened Spurs retaining Premier League status next season.

In a video announcing his decision, the Scotland captain said: “I think now’s the time for me to move on”.

‘The nine years I’ll look back on with a big smile on my face.

‘This club means everything to me, the fans mean everything to me, the people connected to the club mean everything to me,” said Robertson.

‘I think I owe it to them still to, until my very last day, I’ll give everything to this football club, which I’ve done over the last nine years and I’m very proud of that.

‘The time to have the emotional farewell and tell the fans and the people connected to this club what they mean to me, that will come closer to the end. I don’t think I’m quite ready for that yet.’

The left back’s news comes less than a month after another Reds legend in Mohamed Salah announced that he will be leaving Merseyside come the end of the season too.
