Manchester United sign Carlos Baleba in £70m transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion

Manchester United have completed the signing of Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba in a £70million transfer.

The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract until June 2031, with the option to extend for a further year.

Baleba becomes the third midfield signing made by the Red Devils this summer following Andrey Santos’ £48m move from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans £35m deal from Aston Villa.

The Cameroon international’s arrival will add some much need dynamism to United’s midfield who were soundly beaten 2-0 at Hull City in their Premier League opener on Saturday.

Upon joining United, a delighted Baleba – who is currently injured – labelled it as ‘the club of my dreams’.
