Arsenal WIN the Premier League title after Man City draw at Bournemouth – as Gunners end 22-year wait to be crowned champions

Non League

Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after title rivals Manchester City drew at Bournemouth.

Only a victory for City on the south coast would see the title race go into Sunday’s final round of fixtures, but they could only draw 1-1.

That result at the Vitality Stadium means Arsenal hold a four-point lead over City with a game left.

After beating already-relegated Burnley 1-0 in the Premier League on Monday, Arsenal could sit back and watch the events unfold at Bournemouth.

And it was the Cherries who took the lead, in what was outgoing boss Andoni Iraola’s final home game, with a sublime finish on 39 minutes.

Newly-crowned FA Cup winners City pushed for a way back into the match and it didn’t come until deep into second-half stoppage time through Erling Haaland.

The visitors went in search for a late winner but it wasn’t to be as the full-time whistle confirmed Arsenal as Premier League champions for the first since their 2003-04 Invincibles season.
